I'm going in to my Guelph Honda dealer today to try and purchase my Blue Manual LX Fit. Tell you all how it goes later.

Alright, so I signed the deal! Here's my purchasing experience for all those who are still preparing to go in and buy. They accepted my first offer, Fit LX Manual at MSRP ($17,180), with a free rear spoiler ($494.28). Depending on delivery date (before or after July 1st), there will be a 1% discount on the final vehicle price, or 1% reduction on the GST. I told them about the goverment tax reduction effective July 1st, which they are well aware of, but will avoid completely. It had to brought up several times, since they kept "forgetting" about it. I also inquired about the recent graduate program, and Honda Canada will credit me if I qualify. I was not asked what accessories I wanted to purchase. I didn't want any accessories anyways, but thought they might want to sell them for more profits. I was asked to purchase paint protection, rust protection, and an extended warranty. I chose the 5 year/130,000 warranty only. I put down a $500 deposit. I chose the 60 months finance, at 6.9%. No trade-in.

Total Cost:
Basic Vehicle - $17,180
Freight - $1,225
Federal Air Conditioner Tax - $100
Extended Warranty (5 Yr/130,000 Km) - $790
Prov. Sales Tax (Ontario) - $1,543.60
G.S.T. - $1,350.65
License Fee (Transfer of Plates) - $10
Fuel Tax Conservation Rebate - [-$100]

= $22,099.25

I told the sales rep. he had 30 minutes to reach a deal, or I was ready to leave. The entire purchase totaled 2h:15m (in and out), which was a bit longer than expected (1h:30m). I got the call already to say that the finance was approved, now just waiting for the call on expected time of arrival. I told them I will only accept it in blue, even though I was asked what two other colours I would prefer if blue isn't available.
