Just talked to my Honda dealer

I just made my weekly call to my Honda dealer. They have 3 Fits on the way - 2 Sport manuals and one Fit Automatic (silver). He couldn't tell me when they would arrive, but I'm going by Wednesday to put a deposit down on the automatic. He said he doesn't know pricing yet, but I made sure to let him know I was aware of Honda's official MSRP so he won't able to take me for a ride (pun intended) on price.

Yeah one of the nice things about buying a car just coming out and in high demand is that you dont have to worry much about haggling the price. Without a tradein (to rip you off with) and/or some way for them to screw you with the financing, they're going to insist on MSRP or very near it to buy a Fit not even released yet.

Do that and you definitely will. Why waste your time?

Absolutely. That tactic may work for a Kia, a Chevy, or a Ford.

Don't mention your trade UNTIL you've settled on a proce for the car. Then, your move is to say, "You know, I think I will have a trade after all." That'll get you the true value of your trade in a hurry!
