This time I managed to find Fit with engine removed and alternator placed nicely on the passenger seat. So I took it apart to explore if it can be repaired in house using the junk yard parts.
Rear frame and stator coil assembly; most items are connected by soldering Other side of stator assembly, rear frame removed. I cannot identify the item marked with ??? The brush PROJECTED length is 19 mm new 5 mm old; this one still has 1/3 of its life left (not sure about the acquired mileage, but likely close to 150,000) Soldering is required to replace brushes but it's still better than spending $130 for painted and sandblasted piece of junk in a nice box with lifetime warranty!
