Aftermarket alternator?

Hi All
My mechanic sez the noise my '07 Fit makes are shot bearings in the alternator. Replacement alternator from Honda is $470. Is there a good aftermarket alternator that fits Fits?
Thank you

Have you checked your local auto parts stores personally or by internet as well as local salvage yards? Haven't bought one lately but about $200 would be expected.

Hey!

I just got my alternator changed TODAY!
Really happy, it seems like the old one has been a goner for ages before it finally quit on me, the engine runs a lot smoother now.

Got mine at the starter motor alternator company in england. 12 months warranty, and I do suspect it may be the same as original on newer Jazz'ez.

HONDA JAZZ ALTERNATOR (A2544) on eBay (end time 15-May-11 21:23:27 BST)

Happy customer! (at least so far)

Edit:
I ended up paying the same amount of money for this one brand new, including shipping, as it costs for a decent used one.

Howdy. Here's the story. Im taking care of a service member's 2001 Honda Fit (we're stationed in Japan)...he's currently deployed. The car needs an alternator. The motor, according to the title is an L13A. Can an alternator from a USDM motor fit in this JDM motor? If so, what year Fit can I get this from? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

I get my alternators and starters repaired and tested at a local Auto Electric store. That way I get my original unit back.

Last one I had done (about 2 years ago, and not a Honda) cost about $130 USD for this service.

Unfortunately, the parts here are very expensive. An IACV for my 99 Civic cost almost $500. So the plan is to find the parts in the US. Do you know if a 2007 Fit alternator will fit a 2001?

Can't answer the fitment question but when I searched all over for an alternative to my 2008 alternator, I could find NOTHING but the OEM Mitsubishi one. After 4 winters/65K miles of perfect performance I decided to take it to my trusted local alternator rebuilder and have it rebuilt. The guy told me the Mitsubishi alternators are usually reiliable and long-lived and it didn't really need to be rebuilt but I like to be pro-active so as not to have to worry about failure at -40F. Let us know if you find another model widely available
