The 6th gear in the newer gen Fit's is the same as the 5th gear in the older ones. They just put a gear in between 4th and 5th.

If you are wanting to do this for better highway cruising or MPG.

FD is the same on both trans i'm guessing. the newer trans bolts right up?

are other things like clutch/fly interchangeable on through the L series motors, like the a/b/c/z

You'd be better off looking into the GE8 RS's 6 speed transmission.

While I admit, there is likely no documentation on this forum of it being done there have been mentions of Fit owners in Asia swapping A1 and A7 transmissions between both gens.

I'm passively looking around for additional information on this currently and have an A1 transmission along with a A1 and A7 short block laying in the garage to try with. Just need time to sit down and research this then possibly pony up and acquire a RS transmission if things look right.
