Trying to keep my 2002 Honda Jazz on the road for as long as I can, of late it is running like a dog, it jutters & jerks & accelerates bad, like it's not getting enough fuel. Anyone any ideas. I am not a mechanic but will tackle most jobs.

 

Do you have a check engine light, and if so did you scan for codes? It's hard to diagnose something just like that. Could be the fuel filter clogged up or the fuel pump dying if you are sure about the fact that it's not getting fuel. Could also be a coil on plug failing, running on 3 cylinders instead of 4 will jerk the car for sure when accelerating (A tester is cheap). Check on dumb things first like your spark plugs gap, they can stop sparking all together when the electrodes gets too damaged.
