Replacing Seat Belt - Drivers side front

Has anyone had to swap out a seat belt or have a seat belt re-webbed?

The only issue with the one I just bought is the seat belt doesn't retract properly because it has a cut spot on it.
It's not dangerous but I want to get it replaced or re-webbed.

A Honda replacement is $500.00... eBay has them but not for the Driver-Front...
A re-webbing will cost $75.00. I have to remove the assembly and ship it to them, wait 2 days - then I should have the re-webbed one back...
This route is starting to sound like the best route.

Does anyone know of a better solution?

Please let me know. I'm open to suggestions.

Here's a pic of the belt as it is currently.

Honda seat belts in the US are generally under a very long term or lifetime warranty. Call your dealer to schedule an appointment and mention the warranty. This should cost you $0 to get fixed.

Here's the warranty booklet for 2007 Fits - it mentions 15 years/150,000 miles for the belts, but even beyond that age/mileage, it's worth pushing the matter with Honda as word on the internet is they'll replace them regardless: https://owners.honda.com/Documentum/...s/AWL31583.pdf

I found this...

This Warranty Does Not Cover:
Failure caused by abuse,
alteration, accidental damage,
misuse, or malfunction resulting
from a collision.

I think this could be accidental damage by the previous owner.
I may still go ask about it... I have bought plenty of cars there.

I recommend you don't disqualify yourself before you ask (unless you really want to pay for a new belt for some reason). This should be a free repair - it's bad PR for someone to have a seatbelt break/not perform as intended in an accident.

Seat belts usually have lifetime warranty. Check with your local Honda dealer.

Thank You Both De36 and Jared592 for reasserting that I get it fixed under warranty! I owe y'all a beer!

I took it in for a recall on the passenger airbag - and mentioned the seatbelt didn't retract due to fraying - and the are covering the new seatbelt under warranty!

They also fixed the recall on the drivers door window control as well.

They should be calling me anytime for me to bring it in when the part gets here.
