Bad cat

Hello

I am sure I have a bad car (car surges with out pressing on gas, code, overheats if I am not on highway). The bolts are rusted on like hell (220k) so I was thinking about popping from autozone with connect exhaust clamps and pipe and o2 spacer what are your thoughts? I will only cut out the cat ( maybe 7 inches?)

What are the codes that you're getting?

If it is the cat then do it right. Replace the cat. Use lots of penetrating fluid on the bolts the night before. If you can get an impact with some adapters on it, do that. Or have a shop do it and let them deal with the bolts.

Your idea screams exhaust leaks and hackjobbery

Lol lol I am going hook it up to the impact wrench after a long drive and see if it helps. This is a a to b car so less money I put the better.
