I'll have to do more research to confirm, but thanks for the link!
If those do work on GD's it'd be a super worthwhile mod.

I went searching for an old sheet of ABS plastic today and whipped up a quick proof of concept for the cruise button bracket.
Took all of 20mins with a band saw and a drill.

As you can see, it's not very refined but it fits and works okay for what I need it to do - which is check fitment in the car and take notes for future tweaks.

The biggest thing with it right now is that it isn't centered between the spokes, so that'll be fixed on the next one.
I also want to see if I can do something about the gap between the controls and the bracket, but I think that would take a two piece welded bracket to remedy.

Happy new year everyone!

Within this last week I ordered a whole bunch of stuff for the Fit which should start to trickle in soon.

Hoping to put a week or so away to grind on the car and the mountain of parts I have to go on it, I've got some really exciting stuff coming up that I'm pumped to show you all.

In the meantime, the ladies sleep while waiting for me to get to them.

Most parts have arrived and I finally had a little time today to dig the car out and put a little time into it.

First thing I did today was remove the console with optional arm rest and replace for the JDM console with the sliding arm rest.

I did like that the optional console armrest sat farther back and was slightly lower, but it wasn't attached very well and it creaked and drove me crazy.

I'll see which I like best, I may end up making a better mounting solution and rewrapping the top and switching back if the JDM console armrest position gets annoying.

Don't mind how dirty the interior is.
I sourced another carpet for the car that's on way better condition but needs a good cleaning.

I plan on removing the seats, console, and carpet and doing a deep clean on the interior.
I'll install wiring for an amp before reinstalling the new-to-me carpet and modifying the EP3 seats to work.

I also finally decided on a steering wheel after weeks of looking into the subject, but of course the wheel I decided on is on a 3-5month backorder.

Another thing I finally decided on after weeks of looking was a new set of wheels for the car to run all seasons on.

You'll have to wait until I get the tires on them to see what they are and how they look, but I'll drop this teaser for the time being.

I also got around to mounting my dash cam today (which will work with the back up camera to give me birds eye view) but didn't get to finalize setup because of time constraints.

Oh, and I sourced rear disc brake brackets and a Tanabe axleback I think I'll be happy with:

Rota's! Some people may hate on them, but I kind of miss the RB's we had on our Fit for so many years. Sadly, they don't clear the larger brakes we have now.

Hope you end up liking the JDM console better. It sure looks better! The Tanabe looks similar to our HFP axle back.

Fear not, for the mighty finger belt sander and center punch exist.
I decided that the best course of action would be to drill holes and use rivnuts so I could use new M6x1.0 bolts to hold the bumper support bracket in place.

A few minutes and a quick lick of paint later, and it's as good as new.

With the new light installed, you can't even tell anything happened, and since the threads are now inside the vehicle they shouldn't seize again.
if you ask me, they should have been captive nuts and bolts from factory instead of the stud and nut design.

While I was at it, I decided to take the rear garnish off and replace the sticky rear handle and broken plate light shroud.
I have a backup camera on the way to fill that hole as well.

While wiring the new tail light's reverse lights (only modification needed to run the OEM JDM lights. Rest was plug and play) I decide to also include a weatherproof plug to make the installation of the backup camera easier on myself in the future.

And of course, the very dirty money shot.
If you've got a good eye you'll also see that I replaced the crusty plate bolts for Mugen ones.
I hate that the car is this dirty, so I went out tonight and bought a new pressure washer so I can take advantage of the nice weather this weekend and wash the fleet.

And for an added bonus, I installed this Mtec shifter spring.
Having done a few of them on K series transmissions, install was a breeze, the hardest part was breaking the old seal between the shift selector and transmission housing.
Shifter feel side to side is much stiffer now, and the shifter goes back to the neutral position much quicker.
I honestly don't quite know if I like this mod yet, it feels a little too stiff.
I may wait and put a couple hundred miles on it before I decide, just to see how it goes.
I did keep the factory spring in case I want to revert back to it in the future.

I installed DEPO taillights on my 07 Sport, but the bulb socket won't "fit" and reach the reverse socket. I'll eventually have to have it modified and have the wires extended somehow.

I unclipped the harness under the trim piece near the trunk latch going to the passenger side tail light, that freed up enough slack toale it work.
I have OEM lights though, so your mileage may vary.

I spent some time getting the EP3 seats ready to install in the Fit.

It's a ton of work, but I'm really excited for the end product.

I haven't detailed the seats or new-to-me carpet yet, doing all the fabrication work first so I only have to clean them once after I'm done.

I had to do that as well so one of the plug connectors could reach.
I didn't want to pay an absurd amount for JDM OEM ones as they were roughly $400-600 (USED) on eBay vs the Depo's being $100-$120.

It depends on which version you buy. The "full smoked type" seems to be the most expensive version. I bought my "red/clear type" for $400, new.

I got the full smoked style myself.

After 3 days worth of work, I've got the EP3 seats swap complete.

Passenger side was pretty simple, and mostly bolt in +after grinding the factory EP3 seat brackets off the rails) but the driver seat was a complete different story.

The seats sit a little high because I wanted to keep the sliders, weight sensors, seat position sensor, etc all working like factory, but I actually really like the new driving position.

I'm able to set the seat back more and have my legs at a more natural angle, and even with the bit of added height there's still plenty of head room (even enough for a helmet &#128521

I used all the factory GD3 seat mounting brackets and welded them to the EP3 sliders in the same spots as factory, so strength is not an issue.

They even retain the factory bolt covers, which I love, very OEM+ upgrade which is what I strive for.

Overall super happy with the modification, and now that I've figured out the seating position I've finally figured out what I want to do with the steering wheel setup so that is ordered and should hopefully make it's way onto the car next week.

We had the Depot all LED and liked the looks, but the internal wiring was never right. They lasted a few years till the circuit board quit working all together.

Got lucky and found someone that had the JDM lights below new in box, but they took some wiring and socket changes to make work.

@newcarscent Nice work on the seats! Look like they could have been factory in the car. Nice!

I was having an issue where the trunk wouldn't unlock with the doors, and I had to go through the small access hole to unlock it.

Ordered up a new Dorman lock actuator and replaced it and now the trunk works as it should.

Also swapped the Hondata plate frame for one from the local Honda dealer, the Hondata one doesn't have the little clips at the bottom to "lock" onto the plate and would bounce around every time the trunk was closed and it was driving me crazy.

Hurray for small victories during the week.

Couple more little odds and ends wrapped up and figured out.

Ordered the proper USB C 3.0 cable to get Android Auto to work properly, and a USB port mount to install somewhere.
I'm torn between replacing the factory AUX port or tucking it inside the center console, I think for ergonomics the console makes more sense.

Car came with a DIY "ice box" intake, but it was kinda rigged together so I wanted to make something a little more proper.
Took a piece of sheet metal and cut it to fit, then a piece of pipe and welded it on and painted it so that the intake hose can attach to it securely.
The hose then goes to the area behind the driver's fog lamp to get true cold air.

I also got around to having tires mounted to my new wheels.
I settled on 16x7 +40 Rota Grid wheels (I had a set of 205/45/16 tires around to use) for daily use and will be getting a set of 15x8 +35ish wheels to use for 200tw tires and fun stuff.
I also may or may not have ordered a set of blue TE37 spoke decals to make them look like the real deal because you gotta fake it till you make it (or something like that).

And then I promptly stuffed everything I could into my garage because we're getting a terrible winter storm

Got a little more wrench time in buttoning up some small odds and ends.

Mounted a USB port inside the center console cubby.
I felt bad chopping up the JDM console, but it was the best spot I found for it and I'll be able to tuck both the USB C cable and my phone in the center console and use the head unit with android auto and Google assistant to manage things while driving.

I also got shifter base and shift cable bushings installed.
Ordered some cheap ebay bushings and they surprisingly fit pretty well.

Shifter feel is slightly better but I did notice that the actual shifter ball itself has a small amount of play.
I think I will eventually be replacing my shifter for a Hybrid Racing unit, I've seen a lot of good feedback on that product and have liked the parts I've bought from them in the past.

And last but not least, a sorta cool picture of my very very dirty car.
Can't wait to get plates for it and get it on the road and to a car wash, I'm hoping to do that within the next week or two.

Having worked on a K swapped GD and GE before, the K is way more at home in the GE chassis than it is in the GD chassis.

Got a couple more little things done and have a slew of parts ready to make their way into the car whenever I have time to do so.

I replaced the factory antenna shown here:

For this stubby antenna meant for an MX-5:

I also replaced the starter because it was making the dreaded grind when cold.
It's apparently been doing that for a long time without having a performance issue, but the noise drove me insane.
Picked up a reman Denso started off Rock Auto, replacement wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to seem.
About as bad as doing a replacement on a K series to be honest, just needed to find the correct combination of sockets and extensions to make it work - having a slim profile flex head ratchet was a must.

I also decided to remove the Mugen visors and ordered up a set of Weathertech ones to replace them with.
The Mugen ones are too large and dark for my liking, and impaired vision near the A pillar which I'm not a fan of.

Got the car washed to get all the salt off of it. It was looking mighty gross.
The Mugen visors will be up for grabs if anyone is interested.
