Shifter/Cable Help.
I have a 2008 Fit S manual trans, shifter is very sloppy in both directions. The shifter bushing is shot and the front to back slop is in the cable. Both parts are discontinued from Honda. I found some aftermarket shifters, but no cables anywhere. Does anyone know if a newer Fit/Civic etc shifter/cables swap in? Thanks.

Are you sure the slop isn't in the bushings on top of the transmission where the shifter connects? If it's the bushings, you could try these - https://www.torquesolution.com/Honda...ts-scb-506.htm
If you need the actual cables, I think you are stuck with finding good ones in a salvage yard. You can search your area for the part on car-part.com. I see a few yards in SC that show having a manual Fit in inventory.

Although the original Honda 2007-2008 cable set (Part Number: 54310-SLN-A01) is discontinued, Hybrid Racing Shifter Cables for 07-13 Fit & Jazz HYB-SCA-01-43 is available.
Also, since the Hybrid Racing cables set works for both 2007-2008 and 2009-2013, with the only assembly difference being which of the 2 supplied bushings to use on top of the transmission in the transmission end of the shifter-front-back-motion cable, with the bushing for 2007-2008 having a larger I.D. than the bushing for 2009-2013, it must be that the original Honda 2009-2013 cables set (Part Number: 54310-TF0-003), which is not discontinued, and transmission-end washers and bushes (Part Number: 54322-SWA-T01, Part Number: 54325-SWA-T01, Part Number: 54324-SWA-T01, Part Number: 54323-SWA-T01) could be made to fit the 2007-2008 transmission by enlargement of the I.D. of the top-of-transmission (shifter-front-back-motion cable) washer and bush (Part Number: 54324-SWA-T01, Part Number: 54323-SWA-T01), by filing, grinding, or drilling.
