Synthetic oil better at 160K miles?

My '07 Sport manual trans has 160K miles. It is still running fine though the suspension in the back makes some clunking noises. I was wondering if people switch to synthetic oil when the miles get this high. I would like to get a newer fit but I tried one with automatic transmission and it was gutless. I'm going to be sad when mine gives up the ghost.

Always synthetic all the time. Idk.... ....your engine maybe happier with dinosaur mud... I think it's new enough that even honda would use full synth.

That's what I thought. Used to have a '72 Datsun 510 that would only run on synthetic. So, just curious - even a new car should be run on synthetic?

I only use full synthetic oil in my 2008, but the previous owner used regular oil.

My 07 just turned 350K yesterday! I have been using synthetic oil and Wix XP filters since I bought it with 135K on the clock.

I started using Mobil 1, but switched to Royal Purple. It seems to run better with the Royal Purple.

Your car is just broken in at 160K!

I have and would only use 0w20 full synthetic on my '07.

I tried 0w20 once. Made too much valve train noise for my comfort level. I have been using exclusively 5w20 Royal Purple for the last 100K or so miles. I am also a firm believer in Wix XP oil filters.

As far as I can tell the only downside to synthetic is the cost. I think the thinner cold viscosity is a major factor on reducing cold start wear. My Fit makes a terrible metallic noise when started below freezing with conventional oil.
