Question Idler Pulley

Hi all, I have an 07 Honda Fit. I recently replaced the idler pulley on my car. The engineers over at Honda thought that it would be a great idea to have the idler pulley spin the same way that unscrews the bold holding the pulley to the engine block. Consequently, the pulley keeps unscrewing itself. If I screw it down real tight, the pulley stops spinning all together. Any idea's or experiences?

You probably need to add a washer to space the new pulley so that when you tighten it, it doesnt end up unable to spin. The aftermarket pulleys seem to be different from the OEM in the way they are designed, I had to do the washer trick myself with my Gates pulley. If that idea doesnt sit well with you, you could press out the old bearing from the OEM pulley and press in the new bearing from your new pulley.

Thumbs up

Are you using genuine part or aftermarket?
If later, have fun.
