Does anyone know how the cargo light is actuated? I thought my bulb was burned out so I put one of those bright LED units in. But I don’t seem to have any power coming to the fixture. I don’t see any push buttons around the door frame. Any advice would be appreciated big time…
Is your "Doors open" light staying on when you close the hatch? I've no idea where the switch is located but if that were the issue, I think you'd see it that way. It could be a problem with the socket or wiring somewhere.
YMMV when it comes to LED bulbs... It wouldn't surprise me if your replacements (assuming you bought them from Aliexpress or so e other Chinese-made stuff) were bad out of the box (especially if they're sold by the dozen).
I had that happen: a buddy bought a bunch of LEDs, some of which were bad, others of which went bad in short order.
You're right though, that there's no switch (you can dig around the forum for the part number for the cargo light of the Acura RDX (which does have a switch, and is a direct replacement for the one in the GD3).
Using test light verify the presence of power when the hatch door is open
If power is not present it's either the grounding switch inside of the tailgate look or the broken wire in the bundle caused by tailgate operation Schematic blue connector is for the switch, white connector is for the motor
Testing the switch:
remove inside tailgate panel
unplug wires from the blue connector
check the switch with the meter for continuity when tailgate is open
if no continuity fix or replace the latch
