Smile Bypassing A/C compressor on an 08 Fit

My air conditioning compressor clutch was screaming, and when I finally took it apart to replace the clutch, i found the front of the compressor had broken off inside the clutch housing. So it needs a $200 compressor. Being retired and broke, I searched for a belt for this year Fit with no A/C and found that they all came with A/C in the US. Soooo, I took a piece of thin rope and wrapped it around the pullys and it measured about 35". Napa had a belt that was 35 1/4 and it worked perfectly! I then got a crew cut so I can drive in the summer with the windows down!

Help

My 2008 Honda fit, the ac compressor seized up. I need a way to bypass it so I can drive my car again. Are there any bypass pulleys or methods to help?

im probably too late to help you but i will reply anyways. clutch isnt full time engaged w pulley, so if AC comp is seized up it wont prevent serp belt from spinning if AC comp isnt engaged. when AC comp is engaged, it activates magnetic stator that pulls clutch closed w pulley. long as thats not happening, pulley can spin freely regardless if AC comp is seized or not.

You can also unscrew the clutch and leave the pulley there for now. May have to jam something near the pulley so the belt doesn't slip when you're breaking the bolt(s).

Been there- done that. Removed the compressor and hard lines. Swapped a shorter belt in. If it's hot I crack the windows or swap to passthrough vents. I don't know why people need frigid cold air anyways...
