Should I Change 2007 Fit Transmission Fluid?

I recently bought a 2007 Honda fit with the 5 speed automatic transmission. It has 167k miles and I’m not sure if it has ever had the transmission fluid replaced. Would it be bad to change the fluid now?

Better late than never. Make sure you use Honda's MTF Oil and have either a bottle pump attachment or a long bendy funnel. I believe it's 1.5 quarts total. The car needs to be flat when it's done

cool. other comments i have: there are persistent myths that when ATf gets REAL old, changing it can bring forward transmission problems. I don't know how true that is, but most trans fluid drains only remove like 1/3 of the fluid unless you pump it all out. so maybe either have it totally replaced, or leave it alone?

unless you are having transmission problems, especially new ones. then don't delay on the work. my two cents.

....He said is a manual tranny, not automatic....., and because it does not have a troque converter (fluid coupler), it is not really a fuid, but oil, Honda MTF, or even 10W30 or 10W40 could be used in a pinch. .. . Since the oil only lubricates, it does not perform a "turbine duty' (does not transmit power), it does not need to be changed often like a ATF,.......

.......Still, it does not hurt changing it after 60,000 miles
