Subs, Amp... Head Unit

Subs, Amp... Head Unit
Okay I did my honda fit. Well not literally. I connected a 10" Sub and an amp to my factory head unit.
What you need-
Amp wiring kit
Line Converter
Soldering Gun
Electrical Tape
Phillips #2
8mm
10mm
1) Was pretty simple once I stopped and thought about a plan. I put my power (4 gauge wire) in through the passenger side of the fire wall. I pulled the sides of the interior out and ran it along to the back.
2) I connect my ground to my back clip in my hatch.
3) I undid the screw at the bottom of the head unit.
4) Used an 8mm for the two major bolts holding my head unit in. They are deep inside.
5) The dash was then held in by clips, be aware they do pop and ping... dont worry.
6) Connected to the stereo is a large wire harness. Look for the pink and blue/yellow. Those are your +/-.
7) I suggest you use a soldering gun and do it properly. It will avoid anything coming undone.
8) I followed the instructions on the line converter as far as the +/- cause they all have different color wires.
9) Run the RCA from the line converter along the same line of your power.
10) Connect them to the amp.
11) Now you need your amp on a remote/ignition switch. - Now my remote wire is running to the cigarette fuse and is tucked in. This way it turns off when car is off and turns on when car is on.
I soldered it to the NON black wire- Sadly i cant remember the color of the wire i cut. Only two are there so pick the non black one. It should be yellow and green or something...
Anyways if you have any questions you can email me...
Take care and hope this helps!

if you cant find the wire for the remote or if there isnt one on the factory harness or something you can always just run it to a rocker switch or something.. that way you can turn the bass on and off.

I actually replaced the head unit didn't like the sound out of the HU went with Alpine 9884 HU
Got a Profile A600 Amp Bridged to 300 Watts pushing a 10 inch infinity 1050W in a sealed enclosure
and a profile A400 Pushing Infinity 6020CS series 6.5 components
DYNAMATTED OUT and the rear plastic on the side I put bed matting in there
Needless to say its tuned well and bumps hard
Just a thought

Geez, I would love to hear how it sounds. For a minute there I thought it was PhotoShopped. I cannot keep a dime on the dash of the Fit in this city, asking for a crack head to do some window art. You must have a Mother of a dog in the back area....
