This option would require a second set of TPMS', but will give us the winter months to figure out that solution.

Is it just me, or will the TPMS give everybody who knows how to take care of their cars, a headache.

We've owned our Fit since May, and it has been awesome. I've always been a VW guy, but for the price, size, utilty, fuel economy, and resale value, this thing is awesome. Buy why, for God's sake, do we have to pay extra $120 for floormats? Arrgghh!

Thanks for the help everybody,
Shawn

TPMS is only for the apathetic who have to have everything taken care of for them. For aftermarket wheels, including ones for snow tires, cover the dash light with tape or ignore it. But check your tire pressures every week at least.
Those TPMS devices in the tires cost $50 to 70 apiece. They are from 5 or 6 manufacturers and each requires a different programming module. hey, its our govm't at workk.

I just ordered 175/65/14 Michelin X-Ice on steel rims from Tire Rack. $425 shipped. No TPMS'. I can live with that light on the dash. I'll just cover it with some black tape.

I bought my Helium's in 15's so I could put the stock tires on them (And the TPMS sensors are in those wheels) and I kept the stock wheels to put snow tires on. I'm not gonna bother swapping the TPMS sensors for the stock wheels/snow tires but I just bought 15" Michelin Ice X

Bumping up an old thread...

I just ordered a set of rims and winter tires from Tire Rack.
175/65/14 Winterforce tires are on clearance at $37 a tire!
This is my first winter with the Fit, and the stock tires are horrible in even the slightest snow. My 85 Mustang was about as sure-footed.

Here's the good part...
They don't have steelies in stock at the Indiana warehouse, so it would have cost a fortune to ship to MN. For only $12 more than getting the steelies from Delaware, I'm getting some nice looking MSW rims, so my car won't look like I'm running donut spares six months out of the year.

And I'm not going to be running the sensors on the winter tires. Not worth the extra money.
