Scangauge killed my stereo

Scangauge killed my stereo

I have an '08 fit sport AT aand..
I just got a scangauge 2, and when i plugged it in my stereo turned off. It didnt show the time or anything..
When I turn the stereo on, it asks for an error code..
What happened??

did your battery get disconnected? sometimes the system will reset itself.

look for your stereo code. it will be on a little card. you can login to your ownerlink and get it that way, not sure what all it entails.

the battery wasnt disconnected as far as i know..

as for the stereo code, id fix it using the SG2 right?

No. it is a code that you enter into the stereo. it isnt an error code. look in your papers from the dealership, you will find it. it will be on a card.

the radio code might even be on a sticker, stuck onto the outer side of your glove compartment when you open it.

I cant imagine the Scangauge would be to blame, maybe something is up with the diagnostic port? Sounds like when you plugged it on something shorted out somewhere. Very odd.

alright thanks guys. its working now =)

the code was mixed up with all my papers.

but idk why it was messed up in the first place..

Just the other I noticed that the radio code was on the L/S of the glovebox. Odd, considering how the dealer was so tetchy about the code. "Now put this someplace at home, because if you leave it in the car and someone steals the radio..." Yeah, like someone will be stupid enough to want to steal the stock stereo in a Fit.
