locking gas cap

i bought my locking gas cap i installed it but i pulled of the plastic ring (the one that u can hook on the gas cover)off of it thinking the stock ring would fit but it doesn't. so i put the plastic ring back on the locking gas cap but its stretched out any ideas to maybe shrink the plastic back down.

My first thought would be a heat gun might allow you to get the plastic to reform slightly. However you're likely better off not installing it.

The blow dryer is not going to get hot enough to make it pliable...

Also, make sure you give the cap some time to air out before putting the heat gun on it as you may ignite some vapors otherwise.

i just place the locking cap on the roof while gasing. it reminds me of my old 90
civic i had like 20yrs ago and those were good times. in fact my entire FitS
reminds me of that car. that's why i like it so much.
