If it is out of site I would try JB Weld or Gorilla Glue maybe?? Just trying to save you the $$$ at the dealership unless this is under warranty?

Thumbs down Loose center A/C vents

I took my fit to the dealer today to fix some loose center vents which they fixed under warranty. When i got the car back there was blood everywhere, one vent was crooked, the recirculate switch didn't work, the vent selector switch didn't work, and there were horrible scratches and gouges everywhere!!! (I'm so ANGRY!!!!!!) Did they expect me to just drive off happy and content after they abused and defaced my car??? What the hell has happened to all the knowledgeable technicians? Don't they have technical orders anymore? They told me they had to take apart the dash in order to replace two simple little vents. They ended up destroying my car. The problem was simple: center vents on a 2008 fit were not adjustable when the temp in the car was above 90 degrees Farenheit, they simply limped loose until the running A/C tightened them up again. I left the car there as I was told that they would replace the dash and make it all right again. I will post what they end up doing.

Holy cow, BLOOD?? Yikes.

BTW my vents do that too. Turn the car on after sitting in the sun, turn the fan up and WHAP they go to one side or the other, and will continue to do so for 10 minutes. The plastic clip expands too much to hold it.

Loose vents

The technician fixing the vents must have gotten cut while he was trying to figure out how to dismantle the dash instead of looking at the technical manual. It was at GARY SMITH HONDA in Fort Walton Beach, FL. They said they would have the used car guy come and look at it on Monday to see if he can fix the scratches and gouges, but I doubt he can. If he gives me an ounce of hesitation, they will be told to order a new dash. I will try to post pics if I can figure it out. BTW one of the vents is still crooked after installation. So I guess I should have just lived with the fact that the vents get loose under high heat instead of letting all those monkeys get their grips on my car and beat the dash with bananas until it came apart!!

BUTCHER!
Make em replace it. The surface of the Fit dash is easy to scratch so that does suck. Those vents look horrible with that small chunk missing.
