JDM Tails

JDM Tails
This has probably been asked a million times but...
What do the JDM Tails consist of?
Obviously indicators, brake lights and reverse i would imagine, but do they have a rear fog?
Its a bummer in in the UK that we have to have a rear fog

JDM tails are merely just LEDs rather than bulbs. Well the reverse and signal are still bulbs but the brake lights are all LED and I have to say it looks a lot more better than the USDM tails, it has a much nicer and sleeker look to it

I'm not sure what you really mean by rear fog, unless your talking about the rear fog in the bumper that is in the japanese model, then no it doesn't include that. As for the signals typically amber, and of course changes color according to what bulb you use. There are a couple style of JDM tails tough.. like clear, smoked, and regular.
just search it for the pics.

braziers,
i have JDM tail lights on my car in the UK,
only the red part is LED. they are basically LED's which replace the red colour for the brake lights and driving lights.
Amber signal lights are the same and clear bulbs for the reverse.
however, for the rear fog lamp, i have replaced the driver's side reverse lamp and put a red bulb in instead. (its not very bright, but it passes the MOT) and wired up to the fog lamp switch up front.

I didnt know ray had done it, looks good. Is there anyway you can get brighter bulbs to make it a proper fog light?
So how did you go about wiring it up? are all the connections the same from the original tails to the jdm ones?
i can imagine wiring up the fog serparetly would be quite difficult

i would imagine that if you have a UKDM car it should be relatively simple. it should be a case of removing the old UK housing and swapping the JDM housing, with a multi-meter find the wires for the fogs and split them from the tail lights and extending the wires to the reverse light position.
all the wiring should already be in place already as you currently have 2 rear fogs/tail lights and 2 reverse lamps on the UK car. For the JDM housing, you will only need to use 1 rear fog (you might need to paint this red or buy a new red bulb) and 1 reverse, and the bulbs should fit into the JDM housing.
the reason for me having to wire seperately is that i have a JDM car, with no fog lamps as standard, and cannot get a brighter rear fog lamp

ok thanks for that
sounds like it shouldnt be too difficult then. i can imagine i can use the existing fog bulb from my uk tails in the jdm housing, so should work ok once all wired up.
thanks alot for the help
