dAng Fit.

Ok so here's what up. I've kinda had bad luck with my car since I bought it.
During the summer, I got mad at my husband and throw my phone at my windshield, and cracked it. And my deductible for insurance is 500, so I didn't get it fixed. Then in August, I started a new job, and was late on the first day. Never EVER have I forgotten to put up the e brake. I guess I was in a rush that day and forgot. Within 10 mins of walking inside, I was called outside. My car had rolled back into some dodge nitro thing. And it def scratched my rear bumper, but had no monies at the time to fix it.

Now... last Tuesday, on the way to class, I rear ended an Infinti , which in turn rear ended a Toyota Highlander. Currently I have 4k in front end damage. The owner of the shop is a close friend, so is hooking us up! But I just need to find some parts. So if anyone would like to help me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

For sure- I need the following [ Gd-08]
Hood
Right Headlight or a set which is probably more plausible haha
Fog lights
Bumper and Grill
Lip would be nice
Right Fender

insurance is cuttin me a 4k check, so yuh. that should cove it , but it's dumb to go thru honda and buy BRAND NEW parts, when i know the shop owner and hell just buff and paint it for me.

i wouldve thrown it at him, but he was riding in the s2k beside me.

I see. Reason I ask is that usually insurance makes the check co-payable only. And in that case your buddy with the shop could go find the cheap parts. Would have made a funny story if you had chucked it at him anyways and still hit him! Did you at least cold cock him when you got where you were going?

You have money for valve covers and rims and tint (and an S2000!), but no money for maintenance and repairs?

There must be something here I don't quite understand.

Whatever. Anyway, GL getting it fixed.

Honestly speaking, not to dis you or anything, but dun blame an inanimated object for your lost... A car cant bring bad luck, nothing can... at leasts imo.

Throwing phone to ur windshield is not badluck...

Forgetting to pull handbrake and the car roll back - how did u even get out of the car without knowing its downhill, or so I assume?

I would blame "bad luck" if u got reared but... reared someone means u werent paying too much attention on whats in front of you.. I dunno really

Hopefully you learn your lessons and get your car done right. You have a nice car, treasure it~

I don't think anyone would go out and buy those parts AFTER damaging the car enough to receive $4k from insurance.

But I do have to agree with Guinness, none of it is bad luck, just need to pay more attention to the car and what's in front of you is all (and don't throw objects at the windshield).

You should use that $4k for a KW S/C. It'll be ghetto looking but fast.

You can prolly find parts on craigslist or some local bodyshop... since ur car is NHBP(from the look of the photos), u can prolly salvage some parts and skip the paintjob for now.

Dun feel bad if your car have different color tone though, Felix in Vancouver is in the same situation and he is looking for sponsorship for paint *sigh*

maybe you should invest in a cell phone wrist strap too, haha.

good luck with the repairs. i'll throw it out there too - you might consider a JDM conversion at this point if you're interested in that.

Wow, the car is nice. Sorry to hear about your dillema. But sh!t happens. Just got to be more careful =]. I almost rear ended someone yesterday, i was making a right turn at a red light. And I was looking to the left, and waiting for the car to pass. Then i started inching slowly forward and when i looked, ther was a car in front of me. LOL

I've got hood, bumpers, re-bar, and fog lights for sale. Too bad shipping to you would take most of that insurance cheque (that's right, I said cheque)

I have to agree that none of that is bad luck. I think the point people are trying to make is if you can't take responsibility for these things you're just gonna make the same mistakes over again and eff it up.

Damn... this is a negative ass thread. Some straight up rude people. Hope you can find what you're looking for to get your car fixed.

On an unrelated note though, do you know any of those dirty Decatur boys? I was down there for a meet two summers ago. Good times.

Maybe try to find an import salvage yard either locally or one online that could maybe source what you're looking for and ship to you. That would save tons of cash, then you could get them painted on the cheap. Here's one locally in St. Louis. They may be able to ship you a hood and stuff that you need.

www.modernimports.com

If you can find a salvage yard that has bought a Fit from an Insurance Auction, you might get lucky enough to find it in the same color as yours. If you decide to go this route, you can also help by maybe sourcing a cheap base model bumper and add the fogs later on. Buy a kit and install at home in the drive way or something.
