imma newbie!

just wanted to say helo to everyone. i have an 08 fit sport, and i love it. it handles great, and could definatly use some more power.. but what car cant? i currently have a cold air intake, lowering springs, and a short shifter. i just purchased today a full header, and catback exhaust........ my question is what kinda power are similar fits putting down at the wheels? thanx in advance for any response and remember.....VTEC ROCKS!

welcome to fitfreak! most people with an i/h/e set up are lucky if they get 5HP out of it. You might even need an A/F management sytem just to get 5hp.

dynos have shown that simple bolt-ons haven't really been that great of a benefit in terms of HP gains I think there was someone on here with pretty much what you have and got like +2hp?

Welcome to the site!

Yeah he had some number over $1000 into breathing mods- full I/H/E and cat delete and it made less than 2 hp more than a completely stock model the same day on the dyno.

Runs lean because the stock setup flows so much less.

Then again, who really bought this car for tire-twisting power?

just thought i would let everyone know i got my header, free flow cat pipe, and full exhaust a couple days ago. i had a slight clearance problem with the pipe comming off the cat pipe that goes to the passenger side of the car. only when i start the car, that part of the exhaust rattles. i had to heat up the exhaust hanger and bend it. now no issues! as far as power goes, it deff feels better! also a whole lot louder! HEHE! just incase anybody is wondering, i installed all OBX parts. I LIKE IT AND THATS ALL THAT MATTERS!!!!!

I AGREE!!!!!!! forced induction is the way to go to make good power gains. i have a 1983 datsun 280zx turbo that runs low 11's, and a 2000 suzuki TL1000R super bike that runs in the mid 10's. i got the fit to be a family car, and for the gas milage. unfortunatly, i have worked on cars for over 11 years, and have always had the performance bug. i was trying to mod-up the fit without spending 2-5 thousand dollars......... dont get me wrong, id love to install a turbo kit, or a super charger...... maybe even nitrous...... but i decided for the kids sake, i better not piss off the wife too bad! lol

Hey! Welcome to the forum from another WV Fit Freak. What part of WV are you from? Good to have another Fit owner in WV - we may just have enough people for a meet this summer.

And then there were three! Welcome to the site, its good to know I'm not alone in the panhandle. 2nd that on not pissing off the wife LOL My project car is a 40 Caddy I'm restoring, I can throw 2-5K at that and not notice a difference either. But that car requires two hp just to turn the steering wheel.

do you know of any other fits in the panhandle? ive really not seen many 06-08 fits in the area..... i have started to see a lot of 09's recently however...... big ups on the 40 caddy! i think every guy should have a toy to dump money into.... even if it takes 2 horsepower to make the power steering work!

OK that answers my question of what color your car is LOL Did you take your fogs off on purpose or is that a "work in progress" thing? Did you paint the wheels yourself or are they powder-coated? There used to be a really reasonable place called Tech-Powder right down on 11 but I think they fell victim to the recession. Your Skunk2s seem to sit higher than mine for some odd reason, it could be the color of the car throwing me off though....
