I would like to add to any and all the DIY posts out there on installing tails the following statement. When we say "you may have to stretch some of the wires on the passenger side" What we mean is: you are gonna have to bust damn near every connector holding the tail-light harness to the back end of the car in order for the wires to reach. I think that would be very helpful, as I was expecting the wires to be maybe an inch or two too short and they ended up being about nine inches shy of reaching on the passenger side. All the other problems I had were entirely my own fault. Now on to the Skunk2 install DIY LOL

You should not have to extend more than 2 connectors, and even then those really only need about 3 inches or so.

on the driver side, I had to extend the reverse lights. And on the passenger side, I had to extend the signal light and the brake/driving light.

LOL! you're absolutely right! Dude, i dont understand how some people say they have succesfully tugged on the harness and got a few inches out of it. I tried tugging on it, and it wouldn't budge! the only thing that moved was that plastic wire insulation tube thingy. lol! so i had to watch youtube videos to learn how to solder.

This whole thing makes me think of the Honda factory on Friday at about 4:48 PM as Tanaka-san is installing the last rear hatch wiring harness of the week. Hes thinking " Oh snap, this one is too short, it will only just barely reach the tail-lights, Oh well f%*ck it! , its 5 o clock somewhere!" I guess each Fit is a delicate little snowflake, no two exactly alike.

you should always disconnect the negative terminal when working on the car especially lights.

hahah. thanks for the help man. Yeah it was funny. I did the wire splicing and soldering on my dryer, in the garage. Than when i finished soldering that end, i brought it to the trunk of my car, where i had a lamp and the soldering iron sitting on the floor of the hatch. LOL. It was difficult because it was night time already. and i was going to call to say thanks, but my friends were waiting on me so we could go buy booze. LOL!
