New owner. New member. What's the difference... Fit/Jazz
I have a 2008 Fit that I bought from my local Honda dealer. It was turned in from a lease, from what they told me. I was told it was a 2008 Honda Fit Sport and that it had a "Jazz" option. It has "Jazz" on the plate inside the door, and a few different things here and there from my buddy's 2007 Fit Sport. What have I got? What's the difference?
(I'm in TN, United States. This is a US car, originally came from FL)

More than likely the previous owner installed those door sills as well as the red JDM emblem in the picture and the window visors. The dealership just said that trying to make it sound fancy. But what you got is a mentioned by keepitpg is you have a USDM 2008 Honda Fit Sport.
Congrats on the purchase! Looks real nice.

How can you tell the difference though? What sets a USDM 2008 Honda Fit apart from a Jazz.... besides location?

OK. Thanks quick. I wasn't sure.. this is my first Honda. My friend has an 07 Fit.. I just didn't know what the difference was. Thanks for explaining it rationally to me. I guess who ever had it last put those sills on it and the red emblem and some stuff under the hood.

Hi from Germany.. ;-)
Definetely a Fit, because the European Jazz haven't any VTEC motors..
On European market the "old" model have only i-DSI motors (1.2l and 1.4l).. What would I give for a VTEC 1.5l motor.. *hmpf*

Seriously. I know that the search feature of the 'New' eBay Motors is totally screwed up, but you can still find floor mats there. You can also find them in the 'For Sale' thread here on Fit Freak once in a blue. That said, there are also a couple of places that may be cheaper than buying locally. Bernardi, College Hills Honda, and H and A are all reputable and have them.
Now where was it that I saw those aluminum floor mats? Drat! I can't remember now, but they were actual diamond plate aluminum and not silver colored rubber mats.

jdm and edm have the same front and rear ends apart from the fact edms have foglights where jdms dont.
also you have to have a sport version of the edm to get the same bumpers as the jdm's

Outside the US there are indeed two engines for the GD Fit/Jazz: the L15A 16-valve VTEC you all know about, and the 8-valve, twin-spark L13A i-DSI motor that was pretty much the original Fit/Jazz engine since it came out in 2001.
The 1.5L Jazzes have a little stiffer suspension and make do with a few unique components over the 1.3Ls (as per the Electronic Service Manual), but that's it for the mechanical differences.
Otherwise the Fit vs. Jazz distinction is all just cosmetics really. HTHs
Here's a snapshot of my L13A3 i-DSI engine as reference. Not much difference from the outside, but if you take out the intake manifold, you'll see eight ignition coils there instead of four.
