Smashed plastic undercover

I under estimated the height of the concrete curb in the parking lot and rammed the lower part of the bumper into it. The bumper itself is not touched. But the entire undercover piece connect to the bumper became loose and dangling on one side. I noticed it was held in place by a few plastic fasterners/retainers that were broken into pieces. Does anyone know where I can get the replacement parts?

Maybe something from here: Honda Trim Retainers / Regular and Bulk Packaging ---- HUGE SAVINGS ON HONDA CLIPS? But I wouldn't know the part number. Man I wish the fit got half an inch more ground clearance. Thanks in advance!

how funny, i did just a couple weeks ago. i live here in the "rural" area and had a rabbit run out in front of me! i shaved his head and skinned his ass. i think he also knocked his noggin on the HKS exhaust! he he. anyhow, he left his fur tucked in to that same plastic cover. I just took mine off and left it alone. i havent noticed anything with it. they are probably pretty expensive.

lol, i broke that thing last october as well... went to this farm out in nowhere to pickup some pumpkins for the kids and had to park in the field. then bam... hahaha. i had a couple of extra clips so fixed it. luckily it wasn't too bad for me. worst case i suppose you can use some j-nut clips and thread a bolt in there. might even work better.

Sounds good in theory, but the clips are DESIGNED to break so the part dosen't,

buy some more clips.

Mine is pretty torn up since I ripped it off when I rubbed to many times. I just getto'd mine back on with tie wraps.

I talked to my local honda about replacing it, they want $50 bucks.. f-that.

That problem is the main reason I am still riding on the stock suspension... I have put fender washers and some cabinet nuts that are made to be countersunk in wood with small spikes that stick into the plastic and allow me to remove the bolts (I also purchased) from the bottom of the car.... Those clips that the car has installed stock just don't hold up if you remove them a few times.... Lowes has all kinds of hardware, and you are sure to be able to find an alternative way that will do a better job of keeping that plastic crap in place.

Has there been any problem with the undercover not replaced after an oil change?

the undercover adds a bit of structural integrity to the nose of the car. It's a bit floppy when not installed.

When one of my kids smashed ours, I found out that there are like 4-5 different(various thickness/lengths) pop-tab type clips used and I bought them in bulk since I assumed it would happen again and I was correct so they have been handy to have on-hand.

I had the same cover ripped up by a bolt sticking up from a concrete tire stop. Took it to the Honda dealer and they removed it and said it was not a necessary item. They wanted $90 plus labor to replace it. I took it to my local mechanic and he said the same thing, It's not really necessary. The part is there to improve the airflow across the bottom of the car to reduce drag. My milage has remained the same and the car runs exactly as it did before.

Thanks for your experiences. I felt the same way. It may help aerodynamics, but very little. I would rather not have it reinstalled since I like to change my oil more often than the recommendation. Cheap insurance.
