07 newbie

Hello all:
I have pretty much taken over an 07 base with AT from my daughter. Bought it new for her in '06 but she has wrecked it 3 times and I have always repaired it. I intended to trade it in on a miata or MINI for me...but since driving it alot...I've found I really, really like the car...so know I am about 50/50 on trading. I have a few questions and thought you all could help.
- It has 60K miles on it...any particular problems or big time services coming up (like changing a timing belt)? I put a lot of miles on a car about 25K miles a year.
- Not sure if this car or the model in generals radio stinks. Or do they have cruddy antenna? FM really drops in and out all the time. I live in a fairly rural area but I get really good reception in the Nissan at the same places. do you know if I need to replace the antenna or the HU? Any recommendatins. I've seen some antenna on ebay has anybody tried them?.
- I want to get rid of the stock rims/tires...can I safely go to 15" tires?
- Would like to add keyless entry. Looks like about a $100 part and looks pretty easy to install...would you all agree?
- Want to add fog lights...I have seen some on ebay that claim they fit without cutting...has anybody tried them?
- Also would like a center console...have seen 2 styles on ebay...are they any good?

Sorry for all the questions...but like I said...this car has grown on me...runs and handles like a sports car!

the car is timing chain driven, just be good about oil leaks and fluid changes.. my radio is fine but maybe the antenna has a bad connection.. the fit sport has 15" wheels already, so they should be okay.. go to a good alarm shop they can put keyless entry on your car, better bang for the buck.. you HAVE to cut the bumper for the foglights, it really isnt that bad if youre mechanically inclined, but id rather buy the OEM kit, most kits on ebay are junky fake ones.. i think theres a dealer selling in the for sale section

If you want a center console, get the OEM JDM version. On sale now at ICB for 199.97, used to retail for around 330. JDM GD3 Fit Armrest Console Kit w/ Adjustable Armrest - IN STOCK!

I have it installed on my car and think it's a great upgrade.

As for getting 15 inch rims, I would try to look for a used set of OEM Honda Fit rims for the sport. When people buy aftermarket wheels, they often sell them in the classified section of this forum. That will be the cheapest option. Of course there are a lot of aftermarket options as well.

X2 on the JDM center console, I have it and love it. The sport Fits comes with 15" rims so yea no problem, you could go 16" rims if you really wanted to. Take a look in the classified section you can probable find a good deal for wheels.
