Anyone using 1 1/4" stubby antenna?

Not a fan of the stock antenna, and most of the aftermarket antennas are too big for my likes.
I saw a few 1 1/4" stubby antennas on Ebay, and wondered if anyone has one, and how is the AM/FM reception?

I have a Blox short one on my GD works fairly well in the metro area. when i go in the hills I probably lose station a little sooner. But the looks out weigh that. And that is what ipods are for.

I got a carbon ebay on and I changed it back in a day. I live in Chicago and almost every station was crappy. If you find a short one the works well post a link.

You're running into the laws of physics here, I think. A shorter antenna is just not going to do as good a job without the manufacturer investing in better materials - a "shark fin" antenna on a modern luxury car is just fine, but of course it costs $200 to replace. My experience is the Fit radio reception is a bit weak. But hey, I liked the old whip antennas that sprouted from the hood .. except they were a pain to clean around ..

I'd look into the blox line. Mini Antennas

I have the small one and I think it looks and sounds great. Now the trick is keeping d-bags from stealing it....in Miami -__-

Mine is about 1 1/2 inch and around town it works fine. On long trips outside the city it fades about 10 miles before the stock long one does.

I just keep my stock one in the glovebox and put it on if going on a trip takes about 10 seonds to switch.

I have one. It's in my build thread/pic thread. Works great all over for FM but AM sucks if you're by power lines. I use Bluetooth audio 98% of the time though.
