I need help...having a hissy FIT.

let's get one thing straight, i love the fit. it's a great sporty little car. i own a BOM 07 sport AT.

my grievances...
-it's AT
-it's really orange

i bought that color out of need for a car. not my fave. i really want to do more mods but i'm having trouble justifying working on an AT car. as it stands, i have a greddy ti-c axleback and jdm slim visors. for those with an AT fit, especially orange, what's your motivation to work on it? and what kinds of things would you do to it?

love the fitfreakers. peace

problem:automatic fit

solution:k swap.

but seriously, im sure if u found a used one at a dealership they would jump at the chance to trade you an auto for a stick. when i found mine, it had been sitting on the lot for a while. every time they had tried to sell it when the person found out it was mt they didn't want it anymore cuz lets face it the larger crowd that drives the fit get it because it is economical and easy to drive.

so look around and see if they would be willing to do some sort of straight up swap for you, never know, you may get lucky.

just get a different outlook
you basically have a manual.
use the paddles it wont shift on you and theres one less pedal to work.
few cars have this option, most paddles are pointless.

i've had some skunk2 springs for a while that i'm waiting to put on while i debate my situation. i guess i could drop/wheels/suspension and just have a good looking car...but MT is more appealing overall.

I love the BOM and that is what I first wanted when I was looking at the Fit but I was told that it would be impossible to find one. The BOM looks hot with a nice Carbon Fiber Hood - switch out headlights for black ones,
Mugen racing pedals, JDM carbon fiber manifold cover and you've got a theme in the making. I just this evening installed some carbon fiber items on my MR Fit - it is AT - I love it and so far this year we've won a Best Tuner trophy, Best of Show Post 1975 Trophy and last Sunday won Top 20 Awards.

Make the most of it I guess. At least your ATs are the conventional torque-converting type so they should be more robust than the CVTs we got here for the GDs - give 'em 120WHP and the CVT clutch packs are fried.

Depends what you want really. Ever thought of adding boost? Shouldn't be a problem if you want more oomph, although a K-swap will bring more of it (at a corresponding higher price). Beefing up the suspension should be a good idea too.

Or you could do what Billmus86 says and just change your perspective. It's the no-cost option.

I to drive an 07' AT MR Fit. Now the automatic wasn't my choice my parents purchased the car thinking ahead in time. My dad drove it for a year until I obtained a license and the car was paid off. Now I really wish I had a MT for the same reason's not only does it seem necessary in the tuner world but you can feel the difference when the dum ass computer doesn't want to shift or shifts early.

I have thought in the future either a full k20 (manual conversion) or seeing if a dealership would take the trade. My AT has 40k on it and I'm sure it will be hard to find a 07' MT in black or white that they will do a full trade with no cash on my part.

First, recognize that orange is one of the best colors for visibility to other drivers. statistics clearly show yellow and bright iorange color vehicles are hit less than average.

Second, why does the color influence whether you 'improve it'. Tires and wheels are a good start even for AT.
