fender liner came off on the interstate..

went to tallahassee for the weekend, had a blast.. on the way back, im on the road for maybe an hour and WHOOOMM!! blow out? nope.. somehow the fender liner came undone and was rubbing against the tire. rigged it up but it kept popping off.. ended up melting it on the tire in the short distance to the advanced auto parts (10 loong miles) .. had to cut it up and use a bunch of zip ties so it would be safe for highway travel.. now theres a big chunk missing out of my driver side front fender.. damn.

Is this weakness more prone to happen to a Fit? The reason I ask is because I've never had it happen to any car I've ever owned

I hit a road alligator on the way home from work one morning and tore out the first plastic piece under the spoiler. I was pissed, but didn't think anything of it until I heard the first sounds of the second piece in line rubbing on teh ground. By the time I got to where I could work on it, the fender liner was loose, too. $130+ in plastic later, and it's back to normal.

I'm guessing this was just a freak combination of incidents. OTOH, the liner is only held in by a couple of plastic push-pins...

It's not really too big of a deal.. Shit happens.. I'm trying to decide on whether to fix it or just see what happens.. It's secured very well the way I have it on there now.. Where do I buy the liner from?

Have any of you looked into this being a warranty issue? (As long as you didn't hit anything)

Well the car is lowered and the tires do rub a little so they'll probably just tell me it's my fault lol.. Not too concerned about how much it costs as long as it isn't like 200 dollars or something .. It's just frustrating
