Week/Spring Break recap...

Sunday: Drove 400 miles on the return leg of a trip. Cruise control and the Zeta Dead Pedal came in handy.

Monday: Drove into town while it rained. Tried to hit every puddle on the way home so the Fit is filthy compared to usual.

Tuesday: Put Black Magic Tire Shine on the tires to get rid of the scuff marks where the rear tires rubbed during the trip.

Wednesday: Wiped off any left over tire shine that had "sweat" off the tire overnight.

Thursday: Was a lazy day and I just went to a local car meet.

Friday: Rinsed off the all-season mats, vacuumed the interior, and removed the excess lint/cat hair from front seats. Noticed feathering on the further most inside thread of both driver side tires, need to check alignment soon. -.-

Plan for Saturday: Wash the Fit, buff out some scratches and finish cleaning the interior... eventually.

Yesterday and today I.....
-Polished the haze and corrosion off my headlights, they still don't look perfect but they are way better than before.
-Installed the gas pedal spring mod.
-Did that seat mod where you drill out the one set of stops to get extra travel.
-Picked up a print out of service history at the dealer where the PO took the car.
-Browsed online for wheels, tires and springs.
-Wished I had the money to buy wheels tires and springs.
-Drove around aimlessly with the windows down and the radio up, wearing a big grin.

I used the Turtlewax kit, it was $10, basically same stuff except no drill attachment you just have to sand by hand. I didn't sand long enough with the higher grit pads, I can still see lines from the coarse starting pad. I'll probably try one of the kits for a drill and see if it turns out better.

Sold it.
I have to admit that it is a great car.
I hauled a ridiculous amount of stuff and drover like a jerk and still averaged about 37mpg.

replaced front with new brake pads

now it stops better

and they probably could have lasted another 10,000 miles but 73000 is enough for factory fresh.

probably going to get the rotors turned and someone more mechanically inclined to check the rear drums/pads.

i'm debating a brake fluid flush for 75,000 but don't know how lucky i feel.

Thumbs up Fast- N- Easy Way to Hide Paint Chips!

I was detailing the Fit and the chips are so many now that touch up paint looks w/ all the little dots as bad as the chips themselves. So having kids we also have tons of Sharpies I own BOM so I found a gold/yellow and orange pen and the golden/yellow worked the best. I dotted the chip and wiped it with my finger and the ink stayed in the chip. Don't know how long it will last but being it's premanat ink it should be okay till I wax again. the best thing is no raised paint marks! .

^^ HAHA! I dig that car wash smiley animation Mike.

Just put the Fit away for the day after washing it. Tomorrow I have to the Rain-X the windshield and hatch glass as well as go to the dealer and get a steak sauce service (A1).

I'd say go for it. Honda recommends that the brake fluid be changed at least once every 3 years.

Finished installing the amp and sub today. Started yesterday afternoon -_- haha it was pretty confusing how to properly disassemble the fit. But it's done, the rain's washing dirt and adding more dirt on her, and the door hit me on my eyebrow. It hurts!

Other than that it sounds great!

I've been wanting to wash and wax my wifes car too but our schedules conflict...
but seriously I do wanna clean it cuz it was my car for years until I got the fit. then it was like ehhhh, but for being an 03 I kept that thing lookin new, then my wife got a hold of it and could care less about the appearance. its a mode of transportation for her (whatever that is)
