To all the Canadian folks,
I just filed a complaint regarding Honda Canada about their ignorance towards the Honda Fit 2007 engine misfiring problem. I have had this problem since 2008 April (mileage 35000km) and has been to our dealership over 10 times since and still nothing has been done. recently, the engine light has lit up and now the say there is misfiring but cannot diagnose where it is from. Our warranty ends soon and we might be responsible for this problem that Honda is uncapable to deal with and seem to be pushing the blame between Honda Canada and the dealerships. Even that there is clear evidence that there is a problem with the engine. The shop foreman has told us that it was normal that the honda engine would stutter 6 times a minute because it saves gas. He did not want to even hear about other claims over the internet threads that claim the exact same problem. Now, our car is in the garage and poses a serious threat to us and other drivers as it has violent jerks and stalls instantly. If another one has this problem, lets get together so we can get the government to do something about it rather than having us innocent owners stand up for the cost or maybe the cost of our lifes!

 

I have this problem and my car is at my dealer right now since july 5th. They are working on the problem. Obviously, the engine is the problem. They had to order parts from the U.S. I'll let you know how it turns out.

 

 

What engine do you guys in canada run? The i-DSI?

 

Canadian Fits only come with the VTEC L15 just like the US Fits.

Have you had the coil packs inspected or changed? I've read in a few threads here that several GD owners have experienced this and failed coil pack(s) where usually the culprit.

Edit: Another issue that I recall reading here and has similar symptoms was related to the primary O2 sensor being dirty or failing. Have that inspected as well.

Everywhere I have been reading had says that it is the coil packs..... this is actually a common problem in fits unfortunately.... but I think its the only major problem they have mechanically really.

 

really, this shouldn't be that hard to diagnose!
coil packs, 02 sensor or even bad spark plugs!
whats your dealerships name? call honda service and complain. local, regional then national...

why would you call transport canada???????????? lol
