How often do you guys change your oil?
If you look close at my oil analysis(posted above) you will notice that I had 65k on the car and 10k on the oil. The analyst suggest running the oil to 11k or 12k. 0w20 is a great oil and can easily make it to 10k. The maintenance reminder is a recommendation. This can depend on the type of oil but I am betting the recommendation is based on a non-synthetic oil which is a more conservative route.
When I change my oil it is always black but the insides of the engine still look good after 101k.

Just follow the maintenance minder. Honda designed it and it takes a lot of things into consideration. Honda also designed the engine to run on conventional, and that is fine and good. I went with a quality synthetic (Pennzoil Ultra) so even if the maintenance minder streches the oil out for a bunch of miles the oil will still be good and I won't have to worry about it. Hondas (especially Fits) are easy on oil and could probably go 7500+ miles or more on conventional oil but I chose synthetic just for my peace of mind.

The real key is the CHANGE in viscosity and contaminants. You need to post an analysis of virgin oil. Your contents of iron (Fe) and Aluminum (Al) are not too different from ours;perhaps a little higher but not statistically so. Your Ca, Mg, and Zn are higher than ours.
However I didn't see pH which is a good measure of acidity and shear strength.

I was thinking of sending this oil off for analysis at the next change interval and I will send in a sample of the fresh stuff and check the pH as well. I am in for the know.
Then we can all learn something.

I go by the maintenance minder and I'm averaging about 7500 miles before it hits 0%. Running Pennzoil Platinum 5w20. Before I switched to Synthetic the maintenance minder was telling me to change around 5K. Not sure why my intervals are longer now just b/c of synthetic.
Thanks for the replies. I'm planning to use synthetic oil the next time I need an oil change, which should be in the next few months. It seems like Mobil 1 is a good brand to use, any others I should consider?
Whatever synthetic is on sale. They all far exceed OEM requirements.
