For those who have HID on their Fit...

Where did you purchase your SLIM ballast HID kit? I tried using the forum search, but it never register my keyword HID... I think they need to change it so that it takes 3 letters word as search key... anyway...

I've browsed through the Vendor forum and I've only spotted 4 vendors selling the fat ballast, and they don't look like water-proof either... being in Canada with hash winter, i would really love to have something water-proof and slim if possible. And of course, good quality too.

Let me know. Thank you!

To sure for any 3 character word you need to add asterisk " * " after the last letter without any space between them. So your search phrase should be like "Slim Ballast HID* Kit". Hope that helps.

One more thing, installing HIDs in a halogen housing is going to produce crazy glare that will hinder the view of oncoming traffic and the traffic in front of you via the mirror reflection. Its recommended to change to either a brighter bulb (Silverstar, PIAA, Nokyia, etc.) or do a HID retrofit that includes the proper projector housing to aim the light that is produced.

Thumbs up Xenith Xenon has been great...

Look up Xenith Xenons, I have 2 kits from them and I am very happy with the output.

As for the glare for the Hid Kits, I do not know first hand with the Fit but my Civic seems to have a very nice cut-off and no complaints from them.

I plan on doing some Hid's for my Fit's foglights this week, I'll post up pics on how they turn out.

^^ I agree. I have the Xenith Xenon kit and they work great. Proper cutoff as well it is a straight flat line and then it angles up on the passenger side, and from what ive seen and read that is how light are suppose to light up that side of the road. and as far as being water proof i dont think water goes anywhere near my ballasts but George at Xenith Xenons might have a suggestion for that.

And he's by far the best price and value for bi-xenons

+1

The output on the stock headlights is very impressive for halogens. Better spread and less likely to blind other drivers with either:

a. a proper retrofit, including projectors, or
b. simply buying a better/brighter bulb.

I did the latter, and the illumination on my Fit is worlds better than the HIDs on my M3. The PO did an "upgrade" on the M, and I'm in the process of doing a proper retrofit.

Be prepared to spend $400-500 for a true HID retrofit.

Do it right, or not at all.

vvme.com is where I got my kits from. Technically, I cant see how with the glareshields installed that the HID kits can blind other drivers? I have a kit and glareshields installed and they are perfect. Adjust your beam properly and your golden. The kits are cheap and provide a great value without the cost of the retro.

What he said. I run PIAA 8000k. Bright as crap. Have not used my high beams yet. Glare is an issue with hid. You dont believe it but it is. Cops like them though so go for it.
Piaa bulbs give same blue color with no glare.

Ok guys lets be real here. I owned a nice custom setup on an 05 accord...spent $800+ for the whole setup. Was it godlike...yeah no doubt but I have an 02 JDM GD3 now running a 35w kit with shields. It doesn't have a colour mod and cutoff isn't that razor sharp like the TL projectors I had in my Retro (that's what they mean by glare) but its hella decent for being 5% of the cost.

I've adjusted my beam, it was high with halogens stock (there's a post here about that btw) and I am super happy with NO static from the cops.

Anyone saying the kit's suck over a custom Retro are right but the kits are not total ballz for what you pay lets face it.
