hah, we got home from kauai + oahu and my wife started applying for japanese related jobs there (she's japanese)... apparently we get paid a little too well in cali cause the first company said they can't pay that much -- hah! i thought the price of living was higher there :P

back on topic -- what paint did you use for the engine cover? im thinking of doing mine this weekend, did you prime it? put any clear coat on?

thanks!

MHT high temp spray paint, withstands 1200 degrees. I was playing it safe, but you can probably find the same paint in your local auto store but it will probably only withstand up to 500 degrees... at your own risk. I basically used that because of my manifold. I don't know if the cover itself will get that hot.

Don't change things on your car because of what people say on an internet forum.

If you like all that Red, more power to you man. I thought it looked great the way it was.

Side note: Cool vanity plate idea to play off your "red" theme... BLUDMNY (blood money)

Thanks a lot ma'man...usually "if" I do change something, 9 out of 10 times it's something that I was thinking of "already". I never deviate to far from my original idea regardless of what the forum tries to dictate.
I like your comment!

Looks pretty good.. What struts do you have for your hood? And did you paint the under side of the cf hood???

I used regular krylon paint on my manifold cover that I got from home depot and it's held up fine.. The cover doesn't really get too hot from what I've noticed.. I think as long as you don't buy crappy $.99 can of paint you should be fine lol

Thanx man! You know I would have to back track on where I picked up the gas charged hood lifts. I've seen several of lifts installed on this forum so I'm sure they readily available. I'll pm ya' if I can find them.
And yes, I painted the entire under hood myself with the paint that I mentioned. Again, Krylon might work too, but I don't know how long it would hold up.

I think the red is still a bit much, but more importantly: it's your car, do what you want with it (unless you're trying to sell it in the near future). I will say the engine bay looks very clean. If you're going to have a bright red engine bay it better be clean, and yours is.
