Question gawd damn rear wiper! help?

anyone have a trick or 2 for removing the rear wiper arm off the wiper motor?
i poped the plastic cap, removed the 10mm nut, but the arm won't come out.
i tried hammering on the bolt itself, soaked it with WD40, no go...
i also tried re-tighten the nut harder, hoping it would push it in more to break it loose, no go either.

been an hour trying to get the arm out, and i ran out of idea.

Go to an auto zone or such and ask em for a pulley puller. I was able to 'rent' one for free to get mine off. Then lube the spline before you put it back together. Down here they rent for a refundable deposit.

have the wiper touching the back glass press the joint of the wiper with your palm 99% of the time the wiper will come free

No Autozone here in Canada, i wish they open some up here! I will try to go to Canadian Tire tomorrow, see if they sell pulley puller. Is it the same puller people use for the bearing/control arm bushing?

No go, just tried to push it with the weight of my body, hit it with my palm, put pressure on it with my left hand on the joint then try pulling it with my right hand... all of them, no go... ugh...

Just sprayed some more WD40 on it and letting it sit some more now...

It needs to be a small puller, the type w/ 'jaws' that reach down around the part you want to pull off. It really doesn't take much.
They do make a pry-bar type thing specifically for popping wiper arms. A repair shop might have one if you're in tight with any mechanics or an auto supply place.

WD-40 is an awesome water displacing electrical contact cleaner, not a rust penetrant. When I lived in Cape Canaveral, FL I had a conversation about it with one of the engineers who helped develop the stuff. Yes, there are some lubricant-like qualities, mostly from the trace oil film left behind by the lighter solvents. You will find that a quality penetrant like PB B'laster will be more effective at loosening your corrosion. Ain't road salt great??

So i went to check out CanadianTire, NAPA, and none of them have a small pulley puller... could one of you guys point me to the right direction on where i could either order one online, or have a picture so i can show it to the guy perhaps he would know what a pulley puller look like?

I think i saw a pullet at CanadianTire, but it was for some valve job.

One source: Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more

Caveat: I did NO shopping legwork here - this could be the most expensive one ever made, for all I know. It does have a rather nice picture though!

That's not what I ended up using, but it sure is what you want, though I've never seen one before.
Good find. I'll bet Snap-On make a more expensive one!

Guess it really is true, 'They got something for everything.' HA
