Shift Release Locked while Parked

I was parked at the beach this evening. Went to start my 2007 Automatic Fit, and it wouldn't start. Called the Automobile Association. While waiting, I read the manual that tells you to pry off the little cover and stick your key in to release it out of Park. I did that, went to neutral, and easily started the car. Cancelled the AutoClub and drove home. When I parked, it locked up again. I did a search here and didn't see this problem mentioned. Anyone heard of this happening? What might it be?

Hi Patty, did you manage to fix this problem? My Fit did the same yesterday...

Shift Lock - Fixed

Hi, did you notice if something else stop working also? In my case was a fuse, a 15 amp fuse that broke. It affect the horn, the shift lock and the central door lock. It is identified in the fuse box as a horn fuse only.
