New to the forums... Habing problems with my tachometer

hey there guys!

im new to this forum and im having trouble finding forums that help with tachometer issues....

So pretty much my tachometer has stopped working, it only stays at 1000 at all times, and i think it might be a loose wire, but i have no idea what wire is to what.

So if anyone can help me out i would really appreciate it, from providing a wire diagram to correcting me (is it really a wiring problem) p.s i drive an 08 fit sport

Issue with the gauge control module [that's the gauge cluster unit]. Needs to be diagnosed, involves checking DTC-codes. Does tach stay at 1K even w/ ignition off?

Dont know, but has your cluster ever been taking apart for any reason? In my signature (below front end pic) you will see a link to tpms light. In there you will find how to pull gauge cluster out. There are three wire harness plugged to it. Check those for looseness or broken. Also while out see if your needle will move freely up.

@ Krimson_Cardnal nope, with the ignition off its below 1k but once i start driving it, it goes into 1k ans just stays there.

@ Bthasht i personally have never taken the cluster apart, but i think the previous owner did, because you can see marks were he shoved a screwdriver around the top shroud. But dude, i think your step by step link will be a major help

You'll get it out alright, but figuring how to 'fix' it will be a problem if you don't understand what's wrong. Keep us posted, curious to see how this goes for you.
