Fog outside the windshield

When it's super humid outside this happens whether or not the A/C is on:

If I set the flow of air on the windshield, it becomes foggy outside and I have to use the wipers almost every 30 seconds to clear it .

BUT, if I set the flow of air elsewhere, for example, at my face, it becomes foggy INSIDE the windshield and I have set back the flow of air on the windshield and the catch 22 goes on and on....

Help?

Question: When you said "set the flow of air on the windshield", do you mean your switch is on "Defrost" and if so is your air circ set for circ (outside air coming in) or recirc (air recirculated inside? It's recommended in most cars to set the air to circ when using AC or Defrost. Also, does this happen regardless of the temp outside?

Yeah i meant defrost and i was set for circ.

And it only happens when it's super humid outside, like just after a thunderstorm.

Thanks

I have had the same thing happen but only a couple of times... It is like the way water condenses on the outside of a glass of cold water..

I think that's normal operation Vince, specially when super humid. The car's condenser unit turns on when in AC and/or Defrost mode trying to blow dry air into the cabin.

So your fog inside or outside the windshield depends on whether you're in AC and/or Defrost mode (fog outside). When in neither mode, fog inside.

When the windshield is cooled by the A/C vents water in high humidity outside air will condense on the windshield. mother nature makes it that way on purpose. It can happen on side and rear windows as well even without cool air blowing on it, just cool air in the cabin.
