15x7 +38 Fit?
Sorry for the noob question. Never bought wheels before. From the searching I've done it appears so. Quite a few pictures showing 15x7 with offsets between 35-38. Just can't tell from pics whether any other modification was required. I'm on stock suspension just need tires and have an opportunity to get some wheels and tires from a friend for what I'd spend on new tires.
tl;dr: will they fit? any mods required?

Please go to URL below. You need a tire size to configure it.
Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com
To be on the safe side, off-set should be +45. Otherwise, wheels will stick out in the front.

Yes, I have a 1st gen 08 Sport. My apologies for not mentioning that to begin with. So I take it the 7" wide +38 offset wheels do not fit on the 2nd gen cars?
The tires I'll get with the rims do happen to be 195/50/15 so that's some good luck I guess. I was a little worried about the 1-2mpg speedo difference but I think I'll get used to it, especially since it's lower.

I concur with mike410b, Bthasht, and DreaMv. A 15x7 ET+38 wheel will work on a GD running a 195/55R15 and 195/50R15 tire at stock height, a 205/50R15 may work as well with little to no rubbing. Not too sure about lowered applications though...
I know of a member on here running wheels of that spec with 195/55R15 Star Specs and lowered their car with Progress Springs. During normal driving, they don't experience any rubbing; however, during hard spirited driving or autocrossing there is a bit of rubbing up front due to the fender liners being untucked. If he does tuck the fender liners then rubbing should likely go away.
