Hey all, wanted to let you know that my Fit has been destroyed in an accident. I slid off a wet back road into a post and wire fence at about 40MPH Monday evening. I took out four fence posts dead center of the car. The crumple structure did its job perfectly, the airbags did not deploy, but nonetheless $11,000 in damage. I should find out tomorrow what the payout from insurance will be, but I don't owe that much so I'll be ahead regardless. I won't be getting a new car, its the wifes turn for that So I will soon be piloting her old 04 Forester. Thanks to all who have befriended me here, this is really one of the better communities on the web. Take care all

Holy-Moli GP, Sad to hear that not-so good news. The bright side of it is the fact the no personal injuries were involved. Vehicles can always be replaced, but replacing a person that is dear to you is impossible.

I certainly hope it will keep me on the road! Insurance settlement is $10,460, not bad for three years old with 111,000 miles on the clock. So i'll have almost four grand to put into the new car for wifey. She has decided on a 2011 Forester.

I am so sorry to hear about your Fit - but glad to know that you were OK and that the little Fit protected you even though it did not survive the crash. So terrible because I know how much you enjoyed your car and you had it looking so great. It has been great knowing you and we've all enjoyed your post and support since you've had your Fit. Hope that life will treat you and your family well and that you'll come back to visit from time to time. There are not many of us on here anymore that just about started out with the forum from the beginning. You will be missed! God Bless!

 

I am sorry to hear that! Like it has been said before at least the Fit kept you walkin and talkin even though it had to sacrafice itself.
