This is going to sound stupid...

I decided to do a bit of personalizing to help me bond with my Fit (it hasn't been going so well lately). I figured I'd start small so I picked up a Skunk2 shift knob (I REALLY don't like the stock shift knob). All I have to say is WOW...that's a lot nicer. I am frankly amazed at how much I like it. I mean I've had a number fo after market knobs on my cars over the years but this one is really cool. It's freakin' HEAVY but it feel great in the hand and is a real joy to use. I suppose I'll need to wear a glove in summer so it doesn't burn a hole through my palm but I like it. Next up...that SRI under my desk and a Progress RSB.

Maybe there is hope yet for some Fit/owner bonding yet.

Ha ha funny D! Whatever it takes... different strokes... Shift knob switch and burnt palms, got them too.

BTW someone posted a trick about burnt palms... He uses a toddler sock to cover his knob when parked and on hot days. Great idea I never thought of. There goes Jr.'s sock drawer...

I decided to take your advice and just appreciate the Fit forwhat it was. Wise counsel that...in truth the shift knob isn't anything mre than a symbol but it's like writing your name on something. You start to take some ownership. I'm looking forward to the SRI and RSB next.

Great tip about the toddler sock. I'm sure my son has some lying around

Nice. Orphaned toddler socks are still cheaper though...
