Timing Belt/Chain Replacement? Necessary or not?
#41
I've been driving/owning a car for over 30 years and I still find it very hard to believe (IE: adhere to) the servicing intervals of the Fit. In my day, waiting for the dummy light to come on was a recipe for disaster. Heck, wasn't the object of servicing the car was so that those lights NEVER came on? LOL
I'm doing my best to follow the manual and by listening to those who know more than I do but I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me sweat! When my Fit was closing in on 7K before doing the first oil change, I was a wreck !

how many miles do you have on it now and does it burn or have any problems from 7k oil change intervals? I use Mobil 1 full synthetic and I don’t let it go past 5kmiles.

That S2k Guy
Not knocking you at all, but the F20C and F22C never had a timing belt, all S2000's had timing chains

yea service managers will lie , it's how they make money for their mechanics , toyota and honda mechanics don't really see alot
of big labor jobs coming in . i know the chains in the early K motors were oiled from the oil pan , if your oil level went too low the
chain starves and will stretch , it gets noisy , could even pull a code .probably most chains are oiled this way .if you've never gone that low , the chain is probably fine ,
