2008 Honda Jazz Clutch replacement

my 2008 Honda Jazz had approxiametly 99,850 miles when the clutch started making a bad squealing noise. Didn't think much of it as the clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing had been changed at 94,300 miles and the transmission replaced at 96,600 miles ( will write seperate thread for that).

So when I had the car checked out at school (PTEC Clearwater), multiple knowledgeable students in my class and the transmission teacher told me that the throwout bearing has gone bad. At first I figured I'd change just the throwout bearing but figured since the transmission had to be pulled I'd rather just get my Exedy Pro clutch with student discount and replace the clutch kit. So last wednesday the dis-assembly of my Honda Jazz Transmission started. took 2 hours and 4 students to pull the transmission. Thursday morning start at 6am. AllData says the clutch kit replacement is 6.6 hours. By 11am my car was finished.

When the throwout bearing came out it looked like melted hardened lava or an astroid. I still don't understand what happend to the throwout bearing that after 5,xxx miles the throwout bearing went bad. The first factory clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing made it 94,300 miles before replacement.

If anybody else has opinions please reply to post. Im trying to get enough proof together so that I can bring the mechanic that replaced clutch kit to court when clutch kit was replaced at 94,300 miles. Will post pictures of throwout bearing and clutch disc (cracked in 4 places) and worn pressure plate in the next few days.

What clutch did you put in it the first time? On my previous car (1990 miata), I bought a no name EZ Clutch from ebay. Probably about 4000km later the throwout bearing exploded on me. I was in the middle of nowhere too. It was properly greased as well. Anyways I replaced it with a ACT clutch and everything was good.

Hmm, you said the clutch started making a squealing noise. Under what conditions did you get the noise?
