AC not blowing cold and summer is approaching quick!

Hey guys - my 07 fit base has been acting up. The AC only blows cold when the car is driving and when at stop lights or just sitting in parking lot... The AC is not blowing cold air. I just did a re charge with freon so that can't be the problem... Also when the AC is on, it's making loud knocking sounds. Any ideas?

How did you measure how much charge you put in, and how much was in there already? Did you really use Freon (R12) and not R134a? Bad!! If you can't answer any of these then bring it to someone who knows how to find the leak (if you needed charging the some leaked out somewhere) fix it an properly charge the system, it's critical that you the exact weight of charge that the system is designed for. Overcharging will cause the system to not operate properly and you won't get that cool breeze you were looking for.

Condencer took a rock hit and all the 134a leaked out is the usual cause. Leak check w/ nitrogen and spray condencer w/ bubble solution if ya see bubbles there's the leak, GL

Have you got any pressure gauges. If you over gas the system it damages the compressor, and then it makes a knocking sound.
If the shop gassed it up take it back.

I'll take back to check the pressure. How about the issue where my AC is on and the car stutters or is jerky when driving? Anyone experience that? This only happens when AC is on.

It sounds like the system is over gassed if it started jerking after you came from the shop.
