Car "skips" while idling.

Alright, I'm at a loss. This is my first problem I've had with my Fit. It's an '08 Sport automatic. While idling at a red light, my car will skip or jerk, with my foot on the break. It's at 72k, and I replaced the air filter and then the spark plugs, and it still does it! Has this happened to anyone? Or does anyone know what it might be? Thanks in advance.

Does the rpm drop down or jump up from idle?

They drop just a tiny bit.

This is a common Fit condition, here's the (rather long) Topic on this condition along with fixes.

Skipping at idle only when AC is on

Hey there,
My 07 fit is also skipping while I'm idling at stop signs/lights, but only when the AC is on. As soon as I turn the AC off it stops skipping. Does anyone know if the coil packs would still be the problem here? I'd appreciate any input!

Thank you!

If by 'skipping' you mean mis-firing, yes it could be the coils/plugs/valves.

Feel the exhaust when the problem occurs, you can usually sense the 'miss'. Have a helper put it in gear with the air on, more more engine load)

Here's the miss (~2:25):

Runs smooth at ~6:20 on this video:

The coil on the upper image looks better than mine (on mine the end of the tapered part is disintegrating. I have 2 new coils already; next 2 will be done before the end of the year

My Fit eventually started throwing codes but they indicated that the misfire was randomly coming from all four cylinders. My trusty neighborhood mechanic diagnosed that the engine computer was bad and bought a used one from Ebay. The new computer indicated that the misfire only came from cylinder number one. I could have had him diagnose the misfire by replacing the coil pack on each cylinder to find the bad one, but in my case the computer was also bad.
