Pretty sure slotted rotors are better than normal rotors...considering I see them on every Porsche that comes into the shop where I work. But if I'm wrong I'm wrong. I AM going to get new pads as well, going with ceramic as well.

They're better for cooling, however for a Honda Fit....they're not worth the extra cost. If you look at the road racing/autox forum on Honda-Tech, all the guys who drive their cars hard buy the cheapest rotors possible.

I'm not driving it hard, I'm making my car better than it is, making it the best car I can for the money I have. You even said to go all JDM parts, which are much more expensive than any other knock off part, and now that I actually want to pony up the cash for a better product, you're saying not to? What?

On a stock fit, if you want to improve braking. All you should really need are some ceramic pads and nice summer tires. Blank rotors will be more then enough for a stock or lightly modded Fit

Slotted and drilled rotors are overkill most of the time.

They look silly if not with BBK anyways.

Technically slotted rotors dont cool better. The slots are for keeping the pad surface clean. If you want to stop faster get better tires ( the brakes are overwhelming the stock tires). If you want to be able to do lots of hard braking your gonna need better pads and better brake fluid ( that can withstand higher temps).

Well that sounds more reasonable, and makes much more sense.

If you're not driving the car hard, why improve the brakes? It seems like you don't have any idea of what you want to do and are now just throwing what little money you have around.

And I never said to get 'jdm' parts, I said to not get replicas. I don't have a single 'JDM' part on my car.

They are also quite good at shortening the life of your brake pads.

Thats the price you pay for better initial bite. I know allot of the spec E30 guys on e30tech run brembo blanks or slotted.

My short term goal is to make my fit more fun to drive, my long term goal is to make it more powerful, and my longer term goal is to auto x it. Once I'm out of school and everything.

Autox it now.

Slower/stocker car now = better driver later, or at least that's what my friends tell me.

Oh don't worry, I've auto X'd before, just with a different car. My friend and I basically rebuilt his miata and raced it. But now he's racing it in a different part of the country and I'm stuck in st. Louis with the fit.

If you have auto X'd before then you should also know that there are classes cars get put into. If you mod your Fit you might end up being put in a class you can't be competitive in.

Eh, I may not be competitive, but I can show people there that I can have just as much fun in my little fit as they can

I actually am thinking of putting in the engine from an Audi A-4. May be a bit hard, but I like the idea of mixing cultures of cars together. Like, one of my guys in my shop put a 2jz into an old camaro because he liked the camaro but hated its engine...for some reason hahaha.

Why would you put a unreliable engine in a reliable car ?

A lot of people think the A-4 is unreliable, but in all reality they just have one flaw, and it's covered under factory warranty, no matter how many miles. Also, I work in an Audi/Porsche dealer and any time I need to do something, I can have it done for free on Mondays, as long as I help

Oh, and that one problem is that their cylinders kind of...you know...burn oil a bit and have to get new pistons and rings put in. (I've seen 3 of my techs working on this issue on 3 different A-4's hahaha) So, if I find a used engine that's had this problem looked at, I get a great engine that was designed with a turbo already on it, therefore adding no extra cost for wanting a turbo.

Turbo is the bestw ay to go because the engine is so small, the effects of bolt ons such as intake headers and exhaust are minute.
