$8k for a 2007 Sport with 97k miles - good value?
First time poster here. Drove a friend's Fit once and since then haven't stopped wishing I had one. There are a few newer/lower mileage ones around me but I keep hearing about these cars' amazing reliability and wonder if I should take a chance on this one or not:
Black 2007 Honda Fit HLC121479A
It's been reduced in price from its original $10k to $9100 and now down to $8197. What would be a good offer to make? Any advice on what to check out if I go look at it? I know these are pretty generic questions, but any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!!

Just look on Kelly Blue Book to see how much it would be worth and base it on that. Inspect it for anything like previous accidents. Listen to the engine when you drive it for excessive noise. I think that's a reasonable price. Good luck!

looks like a fair price. I'd offer about 500$ less see what they can do. IMO, you should look for a plan B. Find a couple cars that you like and start making offers; if someone is being a hard ass and not willing to budge you can start to walk away and see if they change their tune. If not, too bad for them, buy one of the other cars you spotted.
I paid 9k for mine with about 50K miles so I paid more but had slightly lower mileage. If I were you, I wouldn't look at the original price, just the final price.

I sold my fit with a handful of mods for $7500. NHBP Fit, 2008, 5 spd, mods, 132xxx miles. So to me that seems fair as long as it is in good condition! I would imagine it would be, most fits are spotless haha.
But definitely listen to the guy above me...buying on impulse can be very very bad haha. I'm very impatient so I learned the hard way haha

Seems like a good price based on Edmunds retail $8,900 trade-in value $6,800 so you have a range to work with.
Since it is a Honda dealer check to see if they have the service records. Also check and see what the recommended service at 100k if any not sure on a GD. Check the tires I have seen used cars with very little tread. Test drive it for 30 minutes. good luck.

Blue Book only tells you what others have been willing to pay for it, not whether the price actually makes sense (see: Groupon's IPO price).
That's more than half the price new (my 2010 Sport AT was $16k) for a five year old car with maybe half its life gone (and- the best half, with the fewest problems and with a warranty). What's the car going to be worth in five more years with 200k miles?

Depends on the overall condition. My family just bought my sisters 07 Fit Sport with 93,000 for 8Grand. Everything has always been done at the dealer with all paperwork backing it. That being said finding a used Honda Fit S in my Area with a clean title is next to impossible. If we wanted to we could probably sell our Fit for in the 10Grand mark with little to no trouble as the entire Northern Cali area has zero Honda Fit Sports with a clean title and under a 100K Miles.

WHAT?? only 8? well i guess this depends where you are located here in MD it took me months to find a first gen 5 speed sport and whenever there is one for sale they are scooped up within a week!
the one i purchased had a little fender bender as well bought it for 7500 with about 117000 miles on it i feel like i got got by the dealer but i couldn't pass up the car it was the only one i spotted it my area with the least amount of miles and a 5 speed at that
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS check the carfax you could drop the price by just asking for it
