Fit BAse LX model with a sport key fob

Hey i did a search and didnt find a post but maybe i used bad search terms if there is already one i am sorry.

I have a base model 08 fit LX and it has the OEM keyless entry, so i have my black basic key and a seperate remote with a panic, unlock, and lock button. My question is can I take a sport model key with built in fob and have it work with my LX model. The dealerships say no but im curious if it will infact work before i go waste the money to try.

Thanks in advance

I was just at my loc dealer and was told if you have keyless entry on your Fit, then you can get a sport key. I opted not to as my Fit has an aftermarket Viper auto start.

I wouldn't see there being an issue with getting a Sport key. As long as you do indeed have the OEM keyless entry equipped to your Fit and request that the tech programs the Sport key with your immobilizer AND keyless (2 separate program sequences) entry you should be ok.

If not, just have them program the Sport key to your car anyway and attempt the keyless program yourself.

Hi,

Did you get the integrated key in the end, and did it work? I have the same base 08 with added honda keyless option and would like the all-in-one key, but my local dealer told me the sport has a different immobilizer frequency?

Cheers, Y
