What do you think of these headers?

Hiya guys, for my GD1, what do you think of these?? Need to add that these are going on an L13a, will these in fact fit? Im reading sort of mixed reviews on the very little I can find. Ive read the engines are identical besides the bore.

Topspeed is a local company here in Dallas. They make good knockoff parts and try to weed out problematic knockoff parts(stuff that breaks etc.) Nothing wrong with it, just no power numbers.

hey man, you mean no power gains? Well its still a smaller manifold than whats stock, its 4-2-1, (wanting low end gains, any teenie amount helps) it looks like all the outlets are same length, no unnecessary welds, surely i'd feel some improvement? (if thats what you mean??)

I don't mean no power gains. The sizing of the headers are larger from Topspeed. I'm just saying it's never been on a dyno comparison to test for numbers.

I should mention that this will be going on an l13a, not an l15a, Ive heard the only difference in the engines is the cylinder bore, is this right? very hard to find a header that says its made for the 1.3 but have read 1.5 headers fit? Does this sound right?

^ yea.... that....

The 1.3 is VERY different. Entire head design is different and runs 2 spark plugs. Gains will most likely be un noticeable if ANY. Also, fit ECU's are very intelligent, and in the US spec 1.5's ANY bolt on parts are de tuned for within a full driving cycle.

Here's a great article if you would like to read up on the different first gen L series engines: The Truly Amazing Honda Fit/Jazz

They header mounting points are the same on the 1.3. It looks like the pipes on the new header are shorter than stock. If they are you will loose some power on the bottom end but gain on the top end.

The ECM on your GD isn't as nannyish as the GE one so you will see some gains.

so some pretty different responses there, sorry I should have elaborated, 'loudbang' that's what I wanted to know, the actual mounting point for the header is identical (so it'll bolt on no probs?) The piping is a little shorter but much thicker (?) would this perhaps compensate? and much more of a 4-2-1 whereas the old one is arguably a 4-1. I think partly I would like a better sound, (and pick up, but with shorter headers I may in fact loose some?) I also have a bigger throttle body waiting to go on with an apexi short ram pod. I got this car in mint condition with 100K on the clock for $5000 so am willing to spend a little bit of cash on her. Also, this kind of cat converter on a jazz pipe, possible? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HIGH-FLOW...c3ef277&_uhb=1

So the whole setup will be, Apexi dual funnel short ram air filter, s90 throttle body, 5zigen or Top speed 4-2-1 headers, high flow cat, a 2 inch b pipe, to a magnaflow straight through muffler, with all this should I see an improvement in response? I dont need top end speed, just more response to the slug of an engine. To add to this, it has all new coil packs and iridium plugs. With eibach springs making it nice and firm.

If you are looking for improved take off the best and cheapest way to accomplish that is get some new tires that are smaller in rolling circumference than the tires you have now.

With shorter tires the effective gear ratio of the final drive will be shortened giving you a quick and easy improved off the line performance.

Yeeeh hmm I sacrificed the thin tyre for the more aggressive look, 17/205's with a drop. So I've kind of cancelled that option :/ it was initially a sound car just dropped looking good but now I'm on the more response path as it just lags when taking off through traffic
